Step 1

Select the type of Chamilia item you want to create. Choose from a bracelet or necklace.

How to find the right size bracelet for your wrist? Measure your wrist and add 1 inch. You can also place one finger on your wrist, then measure around your wrist and finger (the 1 inch or finger is the additional space most commonly taken up by beads).

Use the following as a guide. (Note that not all sizes are available in each type of bracelet. This may be due to items that have been retired but are still in inventory.)

6.7" = petite/child

7.1" = very small

7.5" = small - medium (if you're adding more than half your bracelet with beads, this will fit a small wrist)

7.9" = medium - large

(depending on the number of beads you add, this could be a medium)

8.3" = large to x-large

8.7" = x-large

9.1, 9.5 & 10.3 = x-large to xx-large

We carry larger sizes for those who want to fill your bracelet with beads. The more beads you add to your bracelet, the larger or longer your bracelet must be.

Step 2

Find the beads you would like to add to your bracelet. There are many different styles and colors, from sterling silver animals and flowers, colorful glass beads, Swarovski crystal stones to 14kt gold and Disney themes!

Keep in mind that you can add locks, spacers and connectors to your Chamilia item to give it additional interest. These functional beads allow you to control the way your beads move, as well as combining multiple Chamilia items together. Refer to our Beads With A Purpose page for more information on how these beads work.

Step 3

When you are ready to assemble your beads onto your Chamilia bracelet, anklet or necklace, find your bracelet type, then following the instructions:

For Snap Bracelets (show in picture):
Simply twist the beads onto the chain one by one in the order you want them to appear. You can add as many or as little as you like.

For lock beads, open the clasp (pull open the clasp with your fingernail or other non-abrasive item. The square space or hole on the bead indicates where the clasp is and where to pull open. When you have your lock bead open, wrap it around the exact location where you want the lock bead to be, then squeeze it shut and close the clasp. The lock beads will stay in place on the bracelet, while other beads can move freely between them.

For Bangle Bracelets:
Push the Chamilia end piece in, then twist. The end piece should pull off easily. Note: Only one chamilia piece is meant to come off - the one inscribed with a "C.". Check the end piece to ensure that you are using the correct one.

Step 4

You can add bead locks at both ends to secure your design in place on the chain. Your beads will swivel on your bracelet with movement.

When you are finished adding beads, you are ready to wear your bracelet!

If you have a Bangle bracelet, replace the end of the bracelet back onto the Bangle using the same push and twist procedure in Step 3 to close the end.

If you have a Silver Snap bracelet, use your fingernail to pry open your lock (the end with the C). You will see a lipped opening on one side and a hinge on the other. You may have to use both fingers to open the snap. Next, wrap your bracelet around your wrist. Place the other end (the one that does not contain the "C") halfway inside the lock. There is an indent in the non-C end that fits perfectly into the nitch of the lock. Close the snap lock. You have successfully closed your Snap bracelet when you hear a click, snapping it closed!
